Just Love- A baby spiritual seeker's POV

I have so much to write, that I do not know where to start from but I will try my level best to keep my POV poignant with meaning.

This contemplation has been in my heart since more than two months now, and if I wouldn't have penned it down now, on a Long weekend, my heart would have exploded. Boom.

Before knowing what Love is, let's understand what Love is NOT. Love is NOT about receiving. It is definitely not a means to exploit someone for comfort & money. Also, Love is not about having someone just for the sake of it. It is not about building a safety net for yourself. It is not the holidays you take in Maldives, or the long calls you do in the nights. And to break the ice, Sex is definitely not love. Sense gratification can never be called and considered Love, and Sex is sense gratification for most parts. Probably when you love someone really deeply, you would not even want to have sex with them. Strange? Think deeply. Yes, Sex is a way to express your love, but we will keep that topic parked for some other day. For now, the regular sex, the one nights stands, the sex which you indulge in for 'fun' is not love and can never be love.

So now addressing the priceless question- What exactly is Love?
Love is selfless service to the one you love. Nothing bookish about it, but unconditional love is the only True Love. Where you only want to serve and have no other back-handed or ulterior motives. Love is about giving freedom. Letting the one you love fly. You want to give wings to the one you love. And that's what you do when you are in Love. Hanuman ji to me is the embodiment of Love. He serves Lord Rama without any expectations, except that he would keep him forever with him. That's it. So simple yet so profound.

But, is it even humanly possible to have 0 expectations? The clear answer is NO. It is not possible to do so. People will leave if you don't reciprocate, they will find other partners if you cannot do anything for them. That's how it is. Because well, all of us are human beings. Hanuman was a God, we are not!

So what do we do?
How do we make sure we Love someone in the purest way possible? _Find someone whose soul & heart is attractive._ Not just body, not just mind. If someone's soul is great, they will eventually do something worth respecting. And if you want to serve someone a sense of admiration needs to be present no matter what. Love someone for the attitude and purpose they carry.

If you love someone for mere companionship, partners won't be able to lift each other up. A sense of looking up to* helps serve selflessly. And it can be anything. Their commitment to work. Their bold attitude, living for something beyond or just about anything to admire. No we are not talking about being cute and all, we are talking about internal soul stuff which shines through. The mettle which dares. It's easy to find a 6 pack abs body from a gym, or a fake smile from the dozens of dating apps. It is indeed difficult to find a _Strong Soul_

Now coming to the point of what about our own needs? Physical, Mental, Emotional, if we only think of serving the others who will fulfill our cups. The clear answer is- One & Only the Almighty. Lord Krishna for me. Only the Lord can fill our cups. Once we are full we can serve. But the point is we need to connect ourselves to the Almighty. There are multiple ways, choose whichever way you would like to walk on. But most importantly, fill your own cups.

And of course two souls loving each other selflessly is beautiful and ideal. But do we have anything in this world so ideal? No, we don't. Till the world becomes ideal, let's focus on filling out own cups from the unlimited reservoir of Almighty's love.

Better late than never.
I have finally understood the meaning of Love, all thanks to my spiritual classes and my mentor who have helped me see things from a higher perspective.
